  • 8 slices Provolone cheese Can use mozzarella
  • ½ cup Banana peppers Sliced, drained
  • ½ cup Roasted red peppers Drained and sliced
  • ½ cup Shredded lettuce Added after baking
  • ¼ cup Red onion Thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Italian dressing For drizzling
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning Dried herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder For flavor
  • ½ teaspoon Onion powder For depth
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese For topping

Equipment

  • 1 9×13 inch baking dish For baking the sliders
  • 1 Small mixing bowl For butter mixture
  • 1 Pastry brush To brush butter topping
  • 1 Sharp knife For slicing rolls and cutting sliders
  • 1 Aluminum foil To cover during baking

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the connected Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom half in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the salami, ham, and pepperoni evenly over the bottom buns. Top with half of the provolone cheese slices. Add the banana peppers, roasted red peppers, and red onion. Drizzle with Italian dressing. Add the remaining cheese on top.
  3. Place the top half of the rolls over the layered ingredients. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and Parmesan. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
  4. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes. Carefully lift the top half and add the shredded lettuce. Replace the top and slice into individual sliders. Serve immediately.

Notes

The magic of hot Italian sub sliders is in the buttery herb topping and layered Italian meats with melted cheese. The connected slider buns bake together for that perfect pull-apart texture. Make sure to brush the butter into every crevice for the best flavor.
