  • 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour Thickens the sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth Liquid foundation for gravy

Method
 

  1. Mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half the soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce to form six oval patties.
  2. Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat until golden and then set them aside.
  3. Sauté sliced onions and mushrooms in the same pan until they become softened and golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and whisk in broth, remaining soup mix, and ketchup until smooth.
  5. Return patties to the pan and simmer covered for twenty minutes until the gravy thickens beautifully.
